Apples, particularly those from plantations, have at least 45 kinds of pesticides on food. Farmers resort to different chemicals just to keep the apples from insect threats and fungus. As a result, apple products such as apple sauce and apple juice are found to have high amounts of pesticide residue.

If you find it hard to buy organic apples, you can opt for safer alternatives such as tangerines and bananas. These fruits contain almost the same kind and amount of nutrients and antioxidants.


Also frequently included in the list is celery. According to tests from USDA, celery has at least 60 kinds of pesticides on food.

To be sure that what you are buying is organic, you can go to reputable organic stores. However, if it is difficult to look for organic ones, you can opt for crunchy alternatives such as onions, radishes, and broccoli.

Other food items that are usually included in the list are strawberries, spinach, peaches, nectarines, sweet bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and potatoes.

Aside from fruits and vegetables, you should also be cautious of the meat and dairy products that you buy. Farmers may not be using chemicals for them but the grass and other plants that they eat may possibly be contaminated with pesticides on food.
